The Midwest leadership team brings more than 100 years combined experience in management, resolution and servicing of purchased loan portfolios.

Joseph Lovenduski,
Founder and Chairman

Joe Lovenduski is the Founder and Chairman of Midwest. Joe graduated with honors from Villanova University and attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Prior to entering the banking profession, Joe worked for more than 15 years in the construction and agricultural industries. In 1986, Joe joined a Missouri community bank as a loan officer, and later spearheaded the acquisition by the bank of two other Missouri community banks. He began work for another Missouri bank as Executive Vice President in 1991 and later led an investor group that purchased the bank. Joe has been active in purchasing loans and similar assets for his own account on behalf of his affiliated companies since the mid 1980’s.


Timothy Sheehan,
President and Chief Executive Officer

Tim serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at Midwest and is also a director and significant shareholder of the company. Tim is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science degree in Accounting. Tim then pursued his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University graduating cum laude. Tim worked at Citibank as a commercial banker. He also worked as a commercial litigator for several years prior to joining Midwest in 1999.

Tim is very active in the local Rochester community, having served on several civic and professional organization boards, including: Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester as  board chair and board member; Catholic Charities Community Services; YMCA of Greater Rochester; Young Presidents Organization – Empire State Chapter; Turnaround Management Association; Flower City Down Syndrome Network; and the New York and Monroe County Bar Associations.


Martin Reinhold,
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Martin is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Midwest, supervising the operations, accounting, systems and financial reporting functions for all Midwest managed companies. Martin is also a director and a significant shareholder of Midwest. Martin received a MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998 and his bachelor of science in business administration, with a concentration in finance and economics from Truman State University in 1996.

Martin joined Midwest in October 1999, after working in the IT and accounting departments of a Midwest affiliated entity in Puerto Rico. Martin serves as a board member of the Kansas City Chapter of Financial Executives International, is active in the Risk Management Association, and is President and director of a Missouri bank holding company.


John Himmelberg Jr.,
Associate General Counsel

John is the Associate General Counsel and a shareholder of Midwest. John graduated from the from Washington University School of Law (St. Louis, MO) in 1994 after attending the College of the Holy Cross where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. John worked both as an attorney for the State of Missouri and in private practice as a commercial litigator prior to joining Midwest in 1998.

John, who is licenses to practice in both New York and Missouri, supervises Midwest’s in house legal department, working primarily in transactional, real estate and corporate areas.  John is actively involved local civic and community service activities, serving as Chair of the Fairport Village Zoning Board of Appeals while and several committees within his own faith community.


Justin Lovenduski,
Vice President, Assistant General Counsel

Justin is the Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Midwest.  Justin graduated from Truman State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Economics before attending and graduating magna cum laude from Cornell Law School in 1999. Before joining Midwest in 2002, Justin worked as a commercial attorney, including work in securities, secured transactions, corporate law and commercial litigation.

At Midwest, Justin focuses his expertise on evaluating and underwriting new assets, overseeing managed REO, and consulting engagements. Justin’s professional activities include participation in the Missouri Bar Association, Turnaround Management Association, and Risk Management Association.
